Poole's old lifeboat station is still standing at Fisherman's Dock, with the slipway leading down to the water. The building is now a museum, open daily April – November. Displays include the historic Thomas Kirk Wright, one of 19 lifeboats in the rescue flotilla that evacuated the British army from Dunkirk in 1940.
Fisherman's Quay is one of the locations on the Adventurers Trail, and has great content to view. Pick up a leaflet at the reception desk to follow the trail into the streets.
